About the position

We have an exciting new job opportunity working for the world leader in the scientific community! We are looking for multifaceted individuals who can resolve problems and work directly with clients with whom you will form interpersonal relationships over time. This position is remote-based, primarily working from a home office in the Los Angeles area, with the potential for up to 50% overnight travel. In this role, you will perform on-site installation and preventive maintenance of Chromatography and Mass Spectrometer equipment at customer labs. You will handle personal parts inventories, complete job tasks, and service reports using service ticket management software. Familiarizing customers with instrument functionality, hardware, and software will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also provide a communication link between the customer and the company to ensure effective service is provided. Regular attendance at factory-provided technical and service training on innovative products developed by Thermo Fisher Scientific is expected. You will work in conjunction with Service and Sales teams, review customer data, run factory protocols to troubleshoot instrumentation, and share diagnostic information with engineering, factory, field service, management, and other personnel to expedite repairs.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of maintenance on chromatography equipment experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical knowledge and experience maintaining HPLC, IC, or MS systems.
