Chubb is seeking a Claims Associate to join its team, offering a permanent full-time position that supports the development of critical business skills within the insurance industry. The role involves investigating claims, appraising property damage, and ensuring effective communication with clients and team members. Responsibilities

• Receives assignments and reviews claim and policy information to provide background for investigation.
• Contacts, interviews, and obtains statements or performs onsite inspections related to claims of customers.
• Inspects and appraises damage for property losses or arranges for such appraisal.
• Evaluates facts to determine the extent of a loss and executes the policy's payment.
• Prepares reports on investigation, settlements, and individual evaluation of involved parties.
• Reserves for expected claims and recommends reserve changes to Team Leader.
• Reviews progress and status of claims with Team Leader and enacts solutions.
• Assists Team Leader in developing methods and improvements for handling claims.

Requirements

• Possess a two- or four-year degree, trade school or vo-tech training, an apprenticeship, a technical certification, or translatable work or military experience.
• Demonstrated critical thinking, hard work, and ingenuity.

• Basic knowledge of business appropriate behaviors, practices, and procedures coupled with a desire to learn.
• Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
