About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Nursery Worker to join our church team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children, providing a safe and stimulating environment for their growth and development. This role involves caring for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, ensuring their well-being while promoting early childhood education through engaging activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage with children in a safe and nurturing environment while parents attend church service on Sunday morning.
• Provide care for infants and toddlers, including feeding, diapering, and comforting.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate Christian educational activities that promote learning and development.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom setting.
• Monitor children's behavior and implement effective behavior management strategies.
• Discipline by redirection only.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and daily activities.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
• Assist in the development of individual care plans for children as needed.

Requirements

• Experience in preschool or early childhood education is preferred.
• Knowledge of infant care practices and toddler care techniques.
• Strong skills in behavior management to foster positive interactions among children.
• First aid certification is a plus to ensure child safety.
• Ability to educate children through play-based learning activities.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with both children and parents effectively.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.
