The Church Sexton position is essential for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the church facilities. The role involves ensuring that all areas are well-kept and welcoming for both visitors and staff, while upholding the values of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the general maintenance and cleanliness of the premises, including restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Perform routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
• Set up and take down equipment for events, ensuring all spaces are prepared for use.
• Assist with landscaping and groundskeeping tasks to maintain the exterior appearance of the property.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts in accordance with environmental guidelines.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure that all areas meet health and safety standards.
• Respond promptly to any requests for cleaning or maintenance from staff or visitors.

Requirements

• Previous experience in custodial or facility maintenance roles is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment is beneficial.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• A valid driver's license may be required for transportation purposes within the facility grounds.
