About the position
The (CI/CD) Cloud Systems Engineer III role focuses on providing expertise in infrastructure design and delivery for cloud and on-premise platforms. This position is responsible for ensuring that development teams have secure and efficient systems at their disposal, while also designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to support software development initiatives. The engineer will work with various technologies and tools to automate processes, enhance security, and mentor less experienced team members.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software development.
- Write automations and workflows using GitHub Actions to integrate components of the CI/CD pipeline.
- Utilize tools like GitHub, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD to manage pipelines.
- Develop infrastructure design patterns and deploy infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible.
- Design and implement solutions in Cloud Service Providers (CSP) such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure.
- Support Kubernetes Clusters including AKS, GKE, EKS, ROSA & Rancher.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to create effective pipelines.
- Advise on process improvement initiatives related to CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate security processes including vulnerability scanning and monitoring.
- Troubleshoot incidents and implement changes as an escalation resource for the Operations team.
- Mentor and transfer knowledge to less experienced team members.
- Document processes and procedures.
- Prioritize and schedule projects/tasks based on customer leadership direction.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in technology or software development.
- Expertise in CI/CD engineering and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with GitHub Actions, Terraform, Trivy, Megalinter, and ServiceNow.
- Knowledge of Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure).
- Ability to design and implement solutions in cloud environments.
- Experience with container registries and Kubernetes Clusters.
Nice-to-haves
- GitHub Certification or Cloud Certification (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) preferred.
- Degree from an accredited College/University in a relevant field.
