About the position
The Cinema Field Service Technician position at Digital Media Systems, Inc. involves providing top-notch audiovisual support to a diverse clientele, including theaters, universities, and corporate venues. This full-time role requires diagnosing and repairing audiovisual equipment, ensuring high-quality presentations, and maintaining systems in various settings. The technician will work closely with a team to deliver exceptional service and support for commercial AV projects.
Responsibilities
- Identify and diagnose audiovisual presentation issues and equipment failures.
- Provide remote and onsite support/troubleshooting assistance and guide non-technical theater and venue staff.
- Complete routine and emergency onsite equipment service and preventative maintenance.
- Perform routine calibration of video/imaging and audio equipment.
- Ensure the highest industry presentation quality standards are met at high profile film premieres and screenings.
Requirements
- 2+ years experience operating/servicing professional audiovisual equipment.
- Comprehension of AV system schematics, signal flow, and modern audio and video formats.
- Experience with AV and electrical test equipment.
- Demonstrate modern computing skills, including experience with Windows and macOS.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting basic wired and wireless networks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to engage in physical activity, including lifting up to 50lbs.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge and proficiency with commercial Digital Cinema equipment.
- Experience with DSP systems and audio over IP.
- Understanding of control systems and third-party control methods.
- Experience with commercial digital signage systems and LED walls.
- Ability to solder and terminate cables and connectors.
- CTS and related professional certifications.
