About the position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Judicial Council of California (JCC) is responsible for leading the technology strategy and operations for the JCC and the judicial branch. This role involves setting policies, making enterprise technology decisions, and ensuring that technology initiatives align with the organization's business goals. The CIO will oversee the full life cycle of technologies supporting the JCC and its various courts, while also serving as a key liaison to various committees and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with technology stakeholders including staff, technology customers, vendors, and governance leaders.
  • Direct daily operations and manage the budget for central technologies to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Develop technology strategies for the JCC and its courts, serving as a subject matter expert in strategic planning.
  • Lead technology governance for internal programs and participate in oversight for external initiatives.
  • Stay current with technology trends and provide enterprise-level solutions to business problems.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal technology-related statutes and best practices.
  • Oversee the security of data, networks, applications, and information for the JCC and its technology assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and eight years of professional-level analytical or managerial experience in IT or related fields, including five years of management experience.
  • Experience in various IT domains such as infrastructure, software development, project management, IT security, and cloud computing.
  • Demonstrated leadership in developing and implementing organizational planning and strategic goals.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects and budgets, vendor management, and cost controls.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
