About the position

As a Circular Center Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician (CC DIAT) at Microsoft, you will be responsible for the destruction of data-bearing devices and the harvesting of parts from decommissioned devices. This role involves performing cycle audits, managing incoming and outgoing deliveries, coordinating security for third-party vendors, and documenting all deliveries. You will also handle warranty claims and returns for failed equipment, contributing to the overall inventory management process within Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with security and data management policies, escalating incidents as necessary.
  • Document inbound and outbound packages and execute deliveries as instructed by management.
  • Develop a working knowledge of stock control and inventory management practices.
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies and maintain a strong customer focus.
  • Process failed vendor hardware devices and initiate warranty claims with suppliers.
  • Destroy data-bearing devices as necessary and notify management about stock shortages.
  • Follow existing processes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma AND 6 months experience or an internship in inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or a related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including non-standard business hours such as evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1+ year(s) experience in warehouse/supply chain in an IT environment or logistics.
  • Experience operating heavy-load movement equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jacks).
