About The Position

The Circulating Nurse (OR) position at Providence Medical Center is a full-time role focused on providing exceptional patient care in the operating room. The nurse will be an integral part of a collaborative surgical team, responsible for preparing the operating room, ensuring patient safety, and advocating for patients during surgical procedures. This role requires a commitment to maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to infection control protocols while supporting the surgical team and providing post-operative care.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA or ARC) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA or ARC) certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Circulating Nurse, Operating Room Nurse, or Surgical Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical trays and ensuring cleanliness.
• Aid in preparing the patient for surgery, including verifying identity and surgical site.
• Document pertinent information before, during, and after the surgical procedure.
• Function as a liaison between the operating room staff and other hospital areas during procedures.
• Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room by following infection control protocols.
• Provide post-operative care and support, ensuring the patient's condition is stable.
