About the position
The CIS Assistant in Research W25 is a temporary part-time position for undergraduate students in the Computer and Information Science department at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. The role involves assisting faculty on collaborative research projects, providing students with hands-on experience in experimental procedures and data management.
Responsibilities
- Assist with experimental procedures and preparation of reports.
- Perform simple calculations or measurements.
- Code and/or record data as required by faculty research.
- Attend weekly meetings with the faculty supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested by the direct supervisor.
Requirements
- Must be a current Computer and Information Science undergraduate student at UM-Dearborn.
- Self-motivation and willingness to learn new applications.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills.
- Good organizational and documentation skills for keeping track of data and multiple analysis steps.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, internet search engines, and mobile devices.
