About the position

The CIS Assistant in Research W25 is a temporary part-time position for undergraduate students in the Computer and Information Science department at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. The role involves assisting faculty on collaborative research projects, providing students with hands-on experience in experimental procedures and data management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with experimental procedures and preparation of reports.
  • Perform simple calculations or measurements.
  • Code and/or record data as required by faculty research.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the faculty supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested by the direct supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must be a current Computer and Information Science undergraduate student at UM-Dearborn.
  • Self-motivation and willingness to learn new applications.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good organizational and documentation skills for keeping track of data and multiple analysis steps.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, internet search engines, and mobile devices.
