About the position

The Cisco Data Center & Route Switch Field Service Technician position at Acuative is a full-time role that offers a unique opportunity for individuals looking to advance their careers in Information Technology. This position is designed for those who are technically inclined and are willing to undergo training, including obtaining Cisco certifications for CCT Route Switch and CCT Data Center. Upon successful completion of these certifications, employees will receive a dollar per hour increase in their pay, reflecting Acuative's commitment to investing in their workforce. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing installation and maintenance services for voice and data networks, servers, computer systems, and retail technology systems. The role requires travel to various locations, with assignments potentially up to four hours away. Technicians are guaranteed a minimum of forty hours of pay per week, even if they are not dispatched for the full forty hours. This ensures job security and a stable income for employees. The position also entails working independently, often in diverse customer environments, which may require familiarity with networking hardware, telecommunication cabling standards, and Cisco networking products. Technicians must be prepared for on-call duties, which may include after-hours and weekend work, to meet customer service level agreements (SLAs). Acuative provides a supportive environment with a full week of paid training for selected candidates, ensuring they are well-prepared for their responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide installation and maintenance services for voice and data networks, servers, and computer systems.
  • Travel to various locations to meet customer service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Follow detailed job documents and instructions for installations and maintenance.
  • Participate in paid training programs to obtain Cisco certifications.

Requirements

  • Clear driver's license with no more than 4 points.
  • Covid-19 vaccination required.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds above head and climb a ladder.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned region.
  • Technical knowledge of networking hardware and topologies.
  • Familiarity with telecommunication cabling standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of Cisco networking products and interfacing through Cisco CLI.
  • Experience with LEC circuit identification and extensions.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel & Word).
  • Ability to pull and terminate cabling in various environments.
