About the position

The Cisco Data Center & Route Switch Field Service Technician position at Acuative is a full-time role designed for individuals looking to advance their careers in Information Technology. This position offers comprehensive training, including Cisco certifications for CCT Route Switch and CCT Data Center, which will result in a pay increase upon completion. The role is ideal for technically inclined individuals who are willing to travel to various locations to provide installation and maintenance services for voice and data networks, servers, computer systems, and retail technology systems. Technicians will be responsible for ensuring the functionality of network-based hardware and will be expected to work independently in diverse environments. As a technician, you will be assigned tickets that may require travel up to four hours away from your base location. Acuative guarantees a minimum of forty hours of pay per week, even if you are not dispatched for the full forty hours. The position may also require on-call duties, after-hours work, and weekend availability, depending on customer needs and service level agreements (SLAs). Responsibilities

  • Provide installation and maintenance services for voice and data networks, servers, and computer systems.
  • Travel to various locations as assigned, potentially up to four hours away.
  • Ensure compliance with customer service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Work independently and follow detailed job documents for each assignment.
  • Participate in paid training programs to obtain Cisco certifications.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot network-based hardware and systems.

Requirements

  • Clear driver's license with no more than 4 points.
  • Covid-19 vaccination required.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds above head and climb a ladder.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned region.
  • Technical knowledge of networking hardware and topologies.
  • Familiarity with telecommunication cabling standards and ability to pull and terminate cabling.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of Cisco networking products and interfacing through Cisco CLI.
  • Knowledge of computing systems hardware.
  • Experience with LEC circuit identification and extensions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel & Word).
