About the position

The Cisco Data Center & Route Switch Field Service Technician role is a full-time position focused on providing installation and maintenance services for voice and data networks, servers, and other network-based hardware. The position includes paid training for Cisco certifications, a company vehicle, and a guaranteed 40 hours of pay per week, even if not dispatched for the full duration. Technicians will travel to various locations, sometimes up to four hours away, to meet customer service level agreements (SLAs).

Responsibilities

• Provide installation and maintenance services to voice and data networks, servers, and computer systems.
• Travel to various locations to meet customer SLAs, sometimes up to four hours away.
• Follow detailed job documents to complete tasks effectively.
• Participate in paid training for Cisco certifications, including CCT Route Switch and CCT Data Center.
• Work independently and manage time effectively while on-site at customer locations.

Requirements

• Clear driver's license with no more than 4 points.
• Covid-19 vaccination required.
• Ability to lift up to fifty pounds above head and climb a ladder.
• Willingness to work mostly Monday to Friday with opportunities for overtime and call-out pay after hours.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of networking hardware and topologies.
• Familiarity with telecommunication cabling standards and ability to pull and terminate cabling.
• Familiarity with Cisco networking products and interfacing through Cisco CLI.
• Knowledge of computing systems hardware.
• Experience with LEC circuit identification and extensions.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel & Word).
