About the position

The Cisco Network Engineer position is a mid-level role that requires candidates to possess a minimum of an active Secret Clearance. This clearance is non-negotiable and is a prerequisite for consideration. The primary focus of this role is on Cisco networking, specifically involving routers, switches, VPNs (with a particular emphasis on Global Protect), and firewall management, particularly with Palo Alto Firewalls. Candidates should have experience in administration, configuration, and STIG compliance related to these firewalls. In addition to networking responsibilities, the role will also involve some systems engineering tasks, which are expected to constitute approximately 10-20% of the job. Candidates should have a foundational understanding of Windows systems, and experience with Linux is considered a bonus. The position requires a strong background in Cisco technologies, and candidates must hold a Cisco Certification, such as CCNA, CCNP, or a higher level. Furthermore, a Security+ certification or equivalent (IAT II) is also required to ensure that the candidate meets the necessary security standards for the role. This position is critical for maintaining the integrity and security of the network infrastructure, and the successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with other IT professionals to ensure optimal performance and security of the network systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and configure Cisco routers and switches.

Requirements
