About the position

CACI's ASG group is seeking a self-motivated Cisco Network Engineer to join their team in Sterling, VA. This position requires a minimum clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph. The majority of the ASG workforce maintains TS/SCI clearances and holds technical degrees with significant experience serving and developing highly specialized systems for DoD, national, and civilian customers. The role involves architecting, delivering, and sustaining end-to-end mission solutions worldwide. As a Cisco Network Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, building, and delivering new switches both in factory and at customer locations. You will troubleshoot network-related issues in both environments and maintain switch operating systems, including patching critical vulnerabilities. Collaboration with the program security team to address and document switch configurations is essential, as is the creation and updating of documentation such as network diagrams, wiring diagrams, and rack elevations. Additionally, you will assist with the creation and checkout of firewall change requests and diagnose hardware failures, repairing any failed equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build and deliver new switches both in factory and to customer locations.
  • Troubleshoot network-related issues both in factory and at customer locations.
  • Maintain switch operating systems, including patching critical vulnerabilities.
  • Work closely with program security team to address and document switch configurations.
  • Create and update documentation, such as network diagrams, wiring diagrams, rack elevations, etc.
  • Assist with creation/checkout of firewall change requests.
  • Diagnose hardware failures, repairing failed equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen and have an active TS/SCI with CI Poly.
  • 5+ years of professional networking experience.
  • Cisco switch/router experience (NEXUS and Catalyst).
  • Experience with storage FCoE configuration.
  • Configuration of L2 multicast including IGMP queriers.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to setup/rack equipment and run cabling.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based network tools.
  • Willing to travel a few weeks a year.
  • Active Security+ or DoD 8570 Certification.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HPE and DELL servers.
  • Familiarity with security requirements for classified environments.
  • Experience with VMware ESXi and Linux environments.
  • Familiarity with TACACS configuration.
  • Experience with Intelligence Community WAN network.
  • Experience with AWS Networking.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate or higher certification.
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking.
