About the position

The Network Engineer will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and project management of network infrastructure and associated services within a software company. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth functioning of network, telephony, and video communication environments. The Network Engineer will engage in designing, developing, and implementing technical solutions tailored to the company's needs. This includes gathering requirements from stakeholders, designing the network architecture, documenting processes, and implementing new network infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency. In addition to the technical aspects, the Network Engineer will also be involved in supporting and maintaining telephony and contact center systems, ensuring that these critical services are always operational. The role requires a proactive approach to monitoring system performance, applying necessary patches or upgrades, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise. The Network Engineer will work closely with other IT professionals to ensure that the network infrastructure aligns with the company's strategic goals and meets the demands of its users. This position is hybrid, requiring the Network Engineer to work in the Greater Sacramento area three times a week, allowing for a blend of in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility. The salary range for this position is competitive, reflecting the importance of the role in maintaining the integrity and performance of the company's network services.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and install switches, routers, and gateways.
  • Support and maintain telephony and contact center systems.
  • Design and implement data, voice, and video network services.
  • Monitor system performance and apply necessary patches or upgrades.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Network Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of network administration experience, VoIP, Contact Center.
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies and ITIL processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • CCNA/CCDA, CCNP/CCDP, CCIE (Cisco Certification desirable).

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong knowledge of supporting network environments for VoIP solutions.
  • Experience with Cisco Contact Center & Genesys.
  • Knowledge of supporting network configurations to support Microsoft Teams voice and Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
