About the position

The position involves providing customer service assistance to patrons of parking facilities in downtown San Antonio. The role includes collecting parking fees, monitoring parking facilities, and responding to customer inquiries and complaints. The work environment is primarily outdoors, with varying schedules that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Meet patrons and provide information regarding downtown events, attractions, hotels, dining, shopping, and transportation options.
  • Provide customer service to patrons of parking facilities and the general public.
  • Maintain awareness of issues and events affecting the public at downtown parking facilities, such as street closures and events.
  • Respond to customer complaints and accidents.
  • Monitor assigned parking facility and inform management of unusual situations or incidents.
  • Operate two-way communication radio.
  • Prepare reports on daily activities.
  • Occasionally collect parking fees from customers using handheld credit card devices.
  • Perform related duties and fulfill responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency.
  • Two years of increasingly responsible customer service experience.
  • Complete an annual customer service training course provided by the city.
  • Earn the city's Certified Tourism Training certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to receive the City of San Antonio's Tourism Certification within the first six months of employment.
