About the position

The CITY Intern for Spring 2025 is a multiplatform editorial internship focused on radio, television, magazine, and digital storytelling. The intern will learn the operations of CITY magazine, which emphasizes local arts and culture, and will support the editorial team while developing their own stories and content. By the end of the internship, the intern will independently produce a capstone project for one of the platforms.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews and do research for arts & culture stories.
• Write online content and news stories.
• Attend weekly CITY meetings.
• Shadow reporters/editors and provide support at events as assigned.
• Use social media to cover events as assigned.
• Assist staff reporters and TV producers with stories and story promotion.
• Strategize social media platforms.
• Submit a final written report/evaluation at conclusion of internship.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Undergraduate student currently enrolled in a college program.
• Journalism/communications or marketing/PR majors preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to take direction and multitask.
• Self-disciplined with a strong work ethic.
• Knowledge of social media platforms: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.
• Ability to work remotely.
• Transportation for assignments and in-office meetings.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
