About the position

The Civil and Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing and detailing various structures in compliance with US design codes and standards. This role requires extensive experience in civil and structural engineering, particularly in the chemical, petrochemical, and oil & gas sectors. The engineer will work on both onshore and offshore projects, ensuring safety and technical specifications are met while collaborating with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Design structures according to structural and technical specifications to ensure safety.
• Identify design requirements and prepare necessary design calculations using hand calculations and software.
• Prepare layout plans and structural engineering details for draftsmen and designers.
• Prepare detailed scope of work, material take-offs, and cost estimates for construction documents.
• Participate in project walkthroughs and provide reports of findings.
• Resolve construction feedback and RFI related issues for issued deliverables.
• Work collaboratively with other disciplines to support project deliverables as per schedule.
• Mentor and transfer knowledge to entry-level engineers and designers.
• Conduct site visits for input collection and prepare site visit reports.

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of civil/structural design and engineering techniques using US design codes and standards.
• Experience in design and detailing of process/non-process buildings, foundations, and marine structures.
• Extensive experience using industry codes such as ASCE, ACI, AISC, UBC.
• Experience in brownfield projects.
• Proficiency in software such as Staad Pro, Mat 3D, Foundation 3D, Risa 3D, and Idea StatiCa.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively within a project design team.
