About the position

Ardurra is seeking an experienced Civil CAD Designer/Drafter to support their office in Wenatchee, WA. The role involves transforming designs into finished graphics and construction drawings, preparing plans, and assisting engineering staff with various civil engineering projects. The position requires a civil background and proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, with opportunities for mentoring and training entry-level staff.

Responsibilities

  • Transform initial designs, sketches, or redlines/mark-ups into finished graphics and construction drawings.
  • Prepare and review plans, providing quantity takeoffs for civil, transportation, and airport engineering projects.
  • Produce erosion and sediment control plans, grading and drainage plans, utility plans, and roadway plans.
  • Assist engineering design staff with production of contract plans and cost estimates for civil engineering projects.
  • Work independently to achieve tasks with minimal oversight from engineers and project managers.
  • Collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams of engineers, planners, and surveyors.
  • Mentor, train, and lead entry-level drafters and engineers as needed.
  • Assist with administrative office tasks such as managing inventory, greeting guests, and shipping/receiving.
  • Provide on-site review of design documents and occasional construction observation.

Requirements

  • Associate of Arts in Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) with at least 1 additional year of experience in the civil engineering field.
  • Ability to follow basic CAD standards and learn company standards.
  • Ability to draw plans efficiently and accurately using CAD software.
  • Understanding of road, intersection, drainage, and utility design.
  • Experience in Municipal, Transportation, Land Development, and Airports sectors.
  • Knowledge of grading, alignments, corridors, and pipe networks.
  • Good written and oral communication abilities and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and meticulous with details.
  • Business development and client relationship skills.
  • Good understanding of financial management and budgeting.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to balance multiple projects.
  • Willingness to learn new software and products.
