About the position

Kimley-Horn is seeking an Experienced Civil CAD Operator to join our Land Development team in Boise, Idaho. This position is crucial for the design and production of plans for various Land Development projects, including commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards, ensuring that all technical drawings and plans are developed accurately using CAD software. In this role, the CAD Operator will be tasked with making and quality checking drawings and plans that are of substantial complexity. This includes performing multifaceted calculations as needed. The position requires minimal supervision for day-to-day tasks, indicating a level of independence and expertise in the field. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of engineering principles and will be able to suggest design changes when necessary. Additionally, maintaining the drawing database and potentially supervising and training CAD staff will be part of the responsibilities. Coordination of work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control is also essential. Familiarity with Kimley-Horn's practices, procedures, and standards will be developed over time, contributing to the overall success of the team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree preferred).
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in CAD operations.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products.
  • Detail-oriented with a professional attitude.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team player.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and desire to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
