About the position

Turner Industries is seeking Civil Carpenters and Cement Finishers for Capital Projects in Deer Park, TX. This full-time position involves constructing, erecting, installing, fabricating, dismantling, and repairing structures and fixtures using wood, metal forms, and associated accessories. The role requires a strong understanding of blueprints and structural plans, as well as the ability to work with various materials and tools to complete projects efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Construct, erect, install, fabricate, dismantle, and repair structures and fixtures of wood and metal forms.
• Study blueprints, sketches, or structural plans to determine material requirements and dimensions.
• Select specified types of lumber or other materials for construction.
• Prepare layouts including lines and grades, and mark cutting and assembly lines on materials.
• Shape materials to prescribed measurements and assemble cut and shaped materials together.
• Erect framework for structures and lay sub-flooring.
• Build stairs and install partitions and cabinet work.
• Cover sub-floor with building paper to prevent moisture and lay hardwood, parquet, and wood-strip-block floors.
• Fit and install prefabricated window frames, doors, and finish hardware.
• Construct forms and chutes for pouring concrete and erect scaffolding and ladders for assembly.
• Place and finish concrete in formwork and set and align form panels.

Requirements

• Must have a TWIC Card.
• NCCER certification preferred but not required; must be able to pass a craft test.
• Background check and drug test required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in civil carpentry and cement finishing.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
