About the position

The State of Minnesota is seeking a Civil/Construction/Environmental/Geo/Structural Engineering Student Worker to assist various engineering offices within the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) during the summer of 2025. This position is designed for undergraduate students currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering fields. The role will provide students with hands-on experience in transportation engineering, allowing them to engage in pre-engineering work as assigned by their supervisors. Students will have the opportunity to work in diverse areas such as Construction, Design, Project Management, Bridge/Structures, Materials, Environmental Stewardship, Water Resources, Hydraulics, and Traffic. A valid driver's license is required for most positions, and students will be expected to work part-time during the day shift from Monday to Friday. The anticipated start date for this position is May 19, 2025, with an end date of August 29, 2025. The positions are temporary and will remain open until filled. Requirements

  • Must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of junior year in the engineering program is preferred, but sophomores may also apply.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
