About the position

The Civil Design Engineer / Civil CAD Designer will play a crucial role in supporting the design and drafting of Land Development projects within a well-established civil engineering firm. This position involves close collaboration with Project Managers and senior team members to create detailed site designs, grading plans, utility layouts, and related documents using Civil 3D. The role offers significant opportunities for professional growth and future leadership, especially with a senior team member set to retire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and drafting of Land Development projects including commercial, retail, industrial, senior living, and multifamily sites.
• Prepare and modify civil engineering plans, including grading, drainage, erosion control, utility, and roadway plans, using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and other engineering staff to ensure design accuracy and project specifications are met.
• Assist with preliminary site assessments, feasibility studies, and other civil design needs.
• Work in an in-office setting to foster collaborative design development, with potential hybrid flexibility based on experience.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in civil engineering design, preferably focused on Land Development projects.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D is required.
• Experience with commercial, retail, industrial, senior living, or multifamily projects is highly desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is preferred, though not required.
• EIT or PE designation is a plus, but not required.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a team-oriented mindset.
