About the position

ELA Group, Inc. (ELA) is seeking a full-time Civil Design Engineer to join our team at our Lititz, PA office. This position requires a minimum of an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification and 5-10 years of relevant experience. The role is not remote, but it offers flexibility to promote a healthy work/life balance within a relaxed and engaging office culture. As a Civil Design Engineer, you will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional project design solutions for our clients. Your contributions will be vital in developing plans that meet the necessary specifications for permit applications, including post-construction stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, land development, and NPDES compliance. In this role, you will produce designs and calculations, complete plans and permit applications, and coordinate with various reviewing agencies. You will assist the project director by providing project management and engineering support throughout the proposal, design, permitting, and construction phases of athletic facility development. Additionally, you will perform construction administration and conduct field observations during construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project align with the established plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop plans that include details and specifications suitable for submitting permit applications (post-construction stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, land development, and NPDES).
• Produce designs/calculations, complete plans and permit applications, and coordinate with reviewing agencies.
• Assist the project director by providing project management and engineering support throughout the proposal, design, permitting, and construction phases of athletic facility development.
• Perform construction administration and field observations during construction projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
• Professional Engineering (PE) License (preferred)
• Experience/working knowledge of basic design principles for grading, calculation of slopes & grades, and site construction materials and methods
• Training and/or work experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Ability to meet project and task deadlines as established by the project director
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• An understanding of, and experience with, the municipal land development and NPDES permitting process.
