About the position

Ardurra is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join their Public Work Design Group in El Segundo or Newport Beach, CA. The role involves independently performing a variety of assignments that require the application of standard design engineering techniques for various projects, particularly in roadway and stormwater design. The candidate will utilize civil engineering software and automated design tools, contributing to project design through independent judgment and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lay out full plan designs, plan details and outlines, identifies quantities of materials, cost estimates, and performs calculations for a detailed segment of a project.
• Participate in the preparation of technical specifications for review and approval.
• Prepares technical reports.
• Performs field tests & measurements, collects field data, as necessary.
• Provides assistance and support to proposal teams or proposal managers.
• Preliminary supervisory responsibilities to Design Engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university or college.
• 3+ years of related experience in engineering and design.
• California PE, recommended.
• Local knowledge of agency requirements.
• Experience preparing final design plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
• Excellent written, oral and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivating, team-oriented work practices, strong analysis and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D drafting and design.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
