About the position

The Civil Design Engineer role is a 100% design-focused position responsible for developing site and civil engineering plans and specifications for various projects, including those for local developers, educational institutions, and residential and multi-family developments. The engineer will ensure compliance with local and state regulations, manage multiple projects through the approval process, and interact with clients and reviewing engineers to meet their requests.

Responsibilities

• Develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for various projects.
• Conduct zoning and ordinance reviews.
• Design site layouts, grading, soil erosion, and stormwater management systems.
• Ensure stormwater management compliance with local and state regulations.
• Manage multiple projects through the approval process.
• Interact with clients and reviewing engineers to satisfy their requests.
• Handle permitting and approval processes at local, county, and state levels.
• Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and HydroCAD for design tasks, including slopes analysis, profile development, road corridors, terrains setup, pipe networks, and grading.

Requirements

• Experience with Civil 3D software.
• Knowledge of stormwater management practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and HydroCAD.
• Experience in zoning and ordinance review.
• Strong site design skills.
• Familiarity with permitting and approval processes.
