About the position

EnSafe is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join our team, based out of our offices in Farmers Branch, TX. In this role, you will lead the engineering and design efforts for a variety of projects, including site civil, stormwater drainage, industrial wastewater, and utility design. Your responsibilities will encompass civil design, solid waste management and landfill design, impoundments, and the development of roadway plans and profiles. You will engage in problem-solving across multi-disciplinary teams and mentor junior-level staff, providing guidance and direction to design teams. Additionally, you will participate in and coordinate various design and construction meetings with clients and subcontractors, including pre-bid meetings. Your role will also involve planning, scheduling, and conducting detailed phases of design work, as well as supporting marketing and sales efforts, project management, and client involvement where appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering and design effort for site civil, stormwater drainage, industrial wastewater, and utility design projects.
• Engage in civil design, solid waste management/landfill design, impoundments, and roadway plans and profiles.
• Problem-solve across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Mentor junior-level staff and provide direction to design teams.
• Participate in and coordinate various design and construction meetings with clients and subcontractors, including pre-bid meetings.
• Plan, schedule, and conduct detailed phases of design work.
• Support marketing and sales efforts, project management, and client project involvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (Master's preferred).
• A minimum of 7 years of civil design experience, preferably with an engineering consulting firm.
• Current PE in the respective state or the ability to obtain a PE license.
• Previous experience with civil engineering design capabilities with both municipal and industrial clients.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong work ethic.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Group management and mentoring experience.
