The Civil Design Engineer at Tait and Associates, Inc. will play a crucial role in the design and development of various land development projects. This includes tasks such as grading, drainage analysis, street design, street widening, and the design of water distribution, sewage collection, and storm drain systems. The engineer will also be responsible for preparing Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Water Quality Management Plans (WQMPs), and Standard Urban Stormwater Mitigation Plans (SUSMPs) in compliance with the latest general permit and water quality requirements set forth by the county. The position emphasizes the importance of work-life balance, offering flexible work schedules that accommodate remote, hybrid, or in-person arrangements to meet the needs of team members. In this role, the Civil Design Engineer will utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D software to transform initial rough product design information into detailed construction documents. This includes establishing horizontal and vertical alignments, profiles, cross sections, and performing earthwork calculations. The engineer will prepare engineering drawings that adhere to specified standards and design basic construction documents, as well as prepare special exhibits and constraint maps based on field data and engineering research. The position requires a collaborative approach, taking directions from Project Managers and working closely with other team members to ensure project success.
