About the position

The Civil Design Specialist at Fluor Corporation is responsible for providing essential administrative and technical knowledge to enhance the company's competitiveness in the global marketplace. This role involves serving as the Design Area Lead on assigned projects, performing complex 3D layouts, and ensuring the delivery of quality services. The specialist will prepare detailed designs, conduct model reviews, check the work of other designers, and develop project estimates and schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Design Area Lead on assigned projects.
  • Prepare 3D layouts and schematics for complex designs.
  • Conduct reviews of models using 3D review platforms.
  • Create 3D models of advanced complexity.
  • Check work done by other Designers.
  • Develop estimates, schedules, staffing requirements, and progress reports.
  • Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems.
  • Organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks effectively.

Requirements

  • Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twenty (20) years of work-related experience, or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty-two (22) years if non-degreed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various audiences including management, coworkers, clients, and contractors.
  • Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal statutes and guidelines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-effective manner.
  • Intermediate knowledge of site design, grading, drainage, and underground utilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks, Vehicle Tracking, Bentley OpenRoads, and MicroStation.
  • EPC project experience working on industrial projects or for the US Department of Energy.
