About the position

The position involves the development of project design concepts, plans, reports, and specifications for various types of civil engineering projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential development, as well as public works facility improvements. Responsibilities include grading, roadway geometric layout, underground utility design, erosion and sediment control, stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), low impact design, post-construction stormwater requirements, drainage system design, hydrology and hydraulics design, cost estimating, and preparation of project reports. The role also requires coordination and communication with clients and agency staff, managing project scope and budgets, and training design and production staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop project design concepts, plans, reports, and specifications for civil engineering projects.
• Manage project scope and budgets.
• Coordinate and communicate with clients and agency staff.
• Train design and production staff.
• Prepare reports, improvement plans, quantities, and bonding estimates for land development projects.
• Design grading and drainage systems, ensuring compliance with stormwater requirements and regulations.

Requirements

• Experience in General Civil Engineering.
• Proficiency in preparing reports and improvement plans.
• Experience with grading and drainage design.
• Knowledge of stormwater requirements and regulations.
• Familiarity with low impact development requirements and the entitlement process.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• California professional registration.
• Minimum of five years of qualifying experience.
