About the position

The Civil Drafter/Designer at RQ Construction, LLC is responsible for drafting civil engineering designs for various projects, including roadways, site improvements, and drainage systems. This role ensures that all drawings and designs are completed on time and meet established specifications and standards, contributing to the successful execution of both commercial and residential building sites.

Responsibilities

• Creates conceptual plans and detailed, permit-ready drawings from verbal guidance.
• Transcribes and accurately reads 'as-built' drawings, engineering, architectural, and shop drawings.
• Utilizes excellent computer skills to work with multiple types of design software.
• Develops cost-effective design layouts based on construction specifications and requirements.
• Follows established design guidelines and procedures.
• Maintains accurate design files for reference purposes.
• Manages design projects within allotted timelines and budgets.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate degree in drafting technology, computer-aided design, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of successful design experience within Civil Engineering.
• Strong technical skills and experience using Autodesk Civil 3D or other related Civil Design programs.
• Experience working in teams with outstanding listening and communication skills.
