About the position

We are urgently hiring for a Civil Engineering Technician to join our team in Ashburn, VA. As one of the largest multi-disciplined consulting engineering firms in Northern Virginia, we specialize in Data Centers and Land Development (Commercial and Residential) projects. The Civil Engineering Technician will design Industrial, Commercial, and residential subdivision layouts under the guidance of a Licensed Professional Engineer and as a member of the project team. This role is essential to help manage our significant backlog of work and to support our overworked team. The position requires a strong understanding of civil engineering principles and the ability to apply them in practical scenarios. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software to create detailed designs and layouts that meet project specifications and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the role involves collaborating closely with other team members, including engineers and project managers, to ensure that all aspects of the projects are executed efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities

• Design Industrial, Commercial, and residential subdivision layouts under the guidance of a Licensed Professional Engineer.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and prioritize tasks to support the project backlog effectively.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D software to create detailed engineering designs.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress and address any challenges.

Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Adaptability to changing project requirements and deadlines.
