About the position

The Civil EIT - Aviation position at Jacobs involves supporting aviation civil engineering projects at various airfields, focusing on quality and teamwork. The role includes tasks such as quantity takeoffs, computer modeling, design calculations, and plan production for commercial and general aviation airports. The professional will work under the supervision of senior staff and collaborate with other engineers and technicians to produce quality designs and plans, while also representing the engineering team in the field during construction administration and management.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity takeoffs, computer modeling, design calculations, and plan set production for commercial and general aviation airports.
• Design horizontal and vertical geometry, drainage calculations and sizing of systems, pavement markings, fence line layouts, project phasing, and pavement design for aircraft under the guidance of others.
• Work closely on project assignments with other engineers and technicians in the discipline group.
• Produce quality design and plans and interpret plans from other engineering related disciplines (survey, drainage, structural, etc.) under the supervision of senior staff.
• Observe project action on site, representing the engineering team in the field and performing construction administration and management.
• Be a self-starter and responsible for quality work products, bringing ideas to project teams and striving for professional growth.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional experience, post-graduate
• Registered EIT (Engineer-in-Training) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
• Ability to efficiently utilize time in executing assigned tasks accurately and on time
• Valid driver's license

Nice-to-haves

• AutoCAD skills, including Civil3D
• Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• A passion for airports and aviation
• Experience with the FAA Advisory Circulars related to civil engineering
