About the position

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Civil Engineer with zero to three years of working experience, who wants to be a part of our office growth and culture. This position will support the team in providing our clients with all aspects of civil engineering, including land development design, site layouts, grading plans, storm water management facilities, water quality best management practices, utility design, and multidiscipline coordination. Our regional Civil Engineering department consists of a small, but growing, team of professionals that enjoy leveraging our collective experience to deliver innovative solutions focused on our clients’ success. Responsibilities

  • Support the team in providing all aspects of civil engineering.
  • Assist in land development design, site layouts, grading plans, and storm water management facilities.
  • Implement water quality best management practices and utility design.
  • Coordinate with multi-discipline teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from accredited college or university in Civil Engineering.
  • Zero to three (0 – 3) years of experience in the civil engineering profession.
  • EIT or ability to obtain EIT within 2 years.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to work on a highly motivated team and think outside the box.

Nice-to-haves

  • Possess intermediate level computer skills necessary for daily activities, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and simple graphics.
  • Possess technical writing skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as on teams.
  • Assist in managing CAD and production efforts.
  • Solid understanding of commonly used hydrologic and hydraulic calculation methods.
  • Utilization of AutoCAD and Civil3D to prepare civil engineering design documents.
