You will apply your understanding of engineering principles to prescribed techniques and procedures to complete project assignments effectively. Your contributions will be essential in developing familiarity with departmental design guides, standards, systems, and applicable engineering codes, as well as Black & Veatch policies and procedures. You will contribute to the preparation of less complex engineering deliverables, including drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope. Additionally, you will perform routine research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection, while collecting, assimilating, and managing data for engineering work. Basic engineering calculations will be prepared following standard methods and principles used in similar engineering analyses, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality requirements. Project coordination is a key aspect of this role, where you will share information with others as requested and coordinate with team members when directed by your supervisor or project leadership. A client-focused approach is essential, as you will need to understand the needs of internal clients while gaining insight into external clients' main interests and drivers. You may also provide support to business development or pursuit activities, contributing to the overall success of the projects you are involved in. Knowledge sharing, innovation, and technology are encouraged, and you will be expected to share your current knowledge of the latest technology and processes with your team. This position is an individual contributor role, and while no prior experience is required, a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is necessary to qualify for this position.
