About the position
We have two opportunities available from recent promotions! You will be a primary review engineer involved with larger development projects. You will review and efficiently assist projects through the permit process. We focus on providing quality engineering reviews and creative engineering solutions in a variety of areas including road, storm drainage, geotechnical, sewer, and subdivisions while interacting with a diverse customer base. You will also have the opportunity to provide input into County codes and standards. Check out some of our development multi-year projects occurring in Pierce County such as the Tehaleh and Sunrise Developments on our website. These projects that are in various stages of design, permitting and construction.
Responsibilities
- Review Site Development Drawings (road, storm drainage, sewer, grading, erosion control) for compliance with County regulations.
- Review subdivisions, land use applications, and commercial/industrial building permits for traffic impacts, critical area impacts, and site access requirements.
- Communicate via email, phone, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and meetings with applicants, developers, builders, engineers, planners, surveyors, and other professionals.
- Daily or weekly interactions with customers and the public.
Requirements
- Registration as an Engineer-in-Training and seven years of progressively responsible experience related to the position is required.
- A bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited program in civil engineering, or a closely related field, may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis, up to four years.
