In this role, you will have the opportunity to focus on the delivery of projects and assist in the design, construction, and project management of a wide variety of projects comprising small- and large-scale water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects. You will lead significant portions of various facilities throughout the cycle of design, construction, and startup phases of infrastructure projects and civil site development. Your hands-on involvement will include developing reports or technical memos, completing studies, detailed designs and specifications, collaborating to complete cost estimates, and preparing contract documents. Participation in scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration for infrastructure projects is also part of the role, including involvement in business development and preparation of proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform design of projects from the conceptual and bid phase through design completion for project needs and requirements set by project managers based on client needs.
  • Assist in the day-to-day process technical work and project execution.
  • Utilize knowledge of regularly used civil concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the water engineering industry.
  • Prepare design reports to document the design process.
  • Apply knowledge to complex projects, find and develop non-standard design solutions to better serve clients' project specifications.
  • Prepare a variety of moderately complex engineering deliverables and perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
  • Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work and prepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
  • Understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements, recognizing, defining, and resolving problems within assigned areas.
  • Assign tasks to and coordinate with other internal/external team members on less complex projects, initiating contact with other disciplines as needed to identify and coordinate details of the work.
  • Actively seek to understand client interests and drivers through normal client contact and interaction with project leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years related work experience.
  • Active Professional Engineer License or in active pursuit.

Nice-to-haves

  • Licensed PE or ability and interest to obtain PE and/or be in active pursuit of registration.
  • General understanding of water and wastewater design (i.e., Infrastructure, Conveyance, Pump Stations/Lift Stations).
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
