Responsibilities

  • Project Management
  • Multi-Discipline Project Coordination
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Prepare and oversee construction documents (plans and specifications)
  • Prepare technical reports and engineering analyses
  • Conduct cost estimates and quality control/quality assurance
  • Implement regulatory requirements and design standards
  • Assist the Department Manager in growing, mentoring, and developing staff
  • Conduct minimum annual evaluations for each direct report
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership for the discipline area
  • Organize staff for career advancement and operational efficiencies
  • Take an active role in recruitment, including networking and interviewing
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer preferred
  • 5-10 years of design experience in civil engineering projects
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Civil3D and Microstation preferred
  • Experience in site/civil design, roadway/transportation design, and stormwater management
  • Strong project management skills
  • Effective communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in renewable energy technologies
  • Knowledge of energy and climate resilience practices
  • Familiarity with decarbonization and electrification of the built environment.
