Kimley-Horn's Dallas, Texas office is seeking a Civil Engineer with over 4 years of experience to join their Aviation team. This position is not remote, and the selected candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks that are crucial for airport planning, design, and construction. The role requires a strong technical background in aviation engineering, as well as the ability to manage project tasks effectively. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for preparing analysis reports that support various aspects of airport projects, ensuring that all work meets the high standards of quality expected by the firm and its clients. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Civil Engineer will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the successful completion of assigned projects. This includes managing project design and permitting processes, coordinating construction activities, and working closely with other team members to maintain project timelines and budgets. Responsibilities

  • Prepare analysis reports in support of airport planning, design, and construction.
  • Manage project tasks, project design, and permitting.
  • Coordinate construction activities and work with other team members.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure successful project completion.
  • Maintain a high degree of quality in plans and check the work of others.
  • Assist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of aviation engineering design experience.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
  • Familiarity with contract document preparation and cost estimating.
  • Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars and Engineering Briefs.
  • Familiarity with pavement design and FAAR Field Design Software.
  • Strong desire and passion to engage with clients and solve project problems.
  • Strong experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation.
  • Ability to work in a team and mentor junior staff.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
