About the position

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking an experienced civil engineer to join our collaborative and innovative aviation team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in analyzing and preparing engineering design reports, specifications, construction cost estimates, and plans for various airport design projects. This position requires a strong understanding of civil engineering principles and the ability to apply them effectively in real-world scenarios. In addition to design responsibilities, the role involves performing drafting tasks in AutoCAD Civil3D to generate plan sheets. The candidate will also assist with construction administration tasks, which may include working in the field at project sites during weekends and nights as needed. A key aspect of the job is the ability to read, interpret, and understand FAA Advisory Circulars, geotechnical reports, and survey data to utilize in project designs. Some travel will be required for this position, allowing the engineer to engage with various project sites and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering from an accredited four-year college or university, along with at least four years of relevant work experience. A PE license in any state is required, with the ability to obtain a Washington or Oregon PE license within one year of the start date. Experience in the design of pavements, grading, and drainage, as well as proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D software programs, will be highly regarded. Strong communication and organizational skills, along with a self-motivated and proactive attitude, are essential for success in this role. The candidate should be able to work well both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Requirements
