About the position

Kimley-Horn's Dallas office is seeking a Civil Engineer with over 4 years of experience to join their Aviation team. This role involves preparing analysis reports for airport planning, design, and construction, while also managing project tasks and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The position emphasizes maintaining high-quality plans and monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules, providing an exciting opportunity to work closely with industry professionals and build meaningful relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare analysis reports in support of airport planning, design, and construction.
  • Manage project tasks, project design, and permitting.
  • Coordinate construction activities and collaborate with team members.
  • Contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain a high degree of quality in plans and check the work of others.
  • Assist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of aviation engineering design experience.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
  • Familiarity with contract document preparation and cost estimating.
  • Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars and Engineering Briefs.
  • Familiarity with pavement design and FAAR Field Design Software.
  • Strong AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
