About the position

CTL Engineering is an award-winning, full-service consulting engineering firm with a rich history spanning over 97 years. With 15 locations across Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, we specialize in civil/site design, land surveying, environmental services, geotechnical engineering, construction administration and inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing and building envelope services, A/V system design, troubleshooting and installation, transportation design (including bridge and roadway), and specialized testing services for the construction industry. We are currently seeking a Civil/Site Project Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, planning, and implementation of site civil design and development projects for our clients. You will leverage your expertise in site design and your creative problem-solving skills while collaborating closely with institutions and municipal agencies. From the initial concept development to the final plan submittal, you will be involved in every stage of the design process, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance of the projects. This position offers the opportunity to utilize your existing experience while also learning new skills as you assist clients through our cross-functional team dynamic and company culture. You will engage in all project aspects, including design and study development, as well as site and field visits during both the design and construction phases. Responsibilities

  • Participate in all aspects of Civil/Site Development Design projects.
  • Work with the Project Managers to develop data, complete technical analysis, and prepare permitting and construction drawings, specifications, and quality control plans.
  • Develop Concept, Layout, Preliminary and Final Engineering Plans.
  • Develop erosion and sediment control plans.
  • Design utility and utility relocation plans.
  • Assist with creating permit applications.
  • Complete site layout, utility and grading plans, storm water analyses and reports, and site development permits.
  • Perform civil engineering analyses and numerical analysis using various computer software programs.
  • Determine hydrology, develop hydraulic/drainage and stormwater calculations, SWPPPs and obtain NDPES permits.
  • Participate in hands-on field observation & inspection of construction activities.
  • Communicate with clients on deliverables.
  • Assist with developing project proposals and Engineer's construction cost estimates.
  • Assist with developing/managing schedules, budgets, and quality of work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or similar discipline.
  • 3+ years of Civil/Site Design experience.
  • EIT or EI is not required but is a strong plus.
  • Must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record.
