About the position

The Department of Transportation is seeking a Civil Engineer Consultant to join our Contract Management Division. This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented and dedicated to ensuring that engineering projects remain on track. As a Civil Engineer Consultant, you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills by performing a variety of complex engineering duties associated with the selection, negotiation, and execution of engineering agreements. This role is pivotal in administering the contract management process for engineering agreements within Engineering District 3-0, District 11-0, the Pennsylvania Turnpike, and central office areas as needed. Your responsibilities will include analyzing project price proposals submitted by consultants, preparing both paper and electronic Engineering Agreements, and evaluating requests for Supplemental agreements. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing and recommending approval for consultants selected by local municipalities to perform work under a Third-Party Federal Aid Agreement. Effective communication is essential, as you will assist customers in interpreting and applying related consultant policies. Responsibilities

  • Administer the contract management process for engineering agreements within designated districts and areas.
  • Analyze project price proposals submitted by consultants.
  • Prepare paper and electronic Engineering Agreements.
  • Evaluate requests for Supplemental agreements.
  • Review and recommend approval for consultants selected by local municipalities under Third-Party Federal Aid Agreements.
  • Assist customers in interpreting and applying related consultant policies.

Requirements

  • Four years of professional civil engineering experience, including three years in the appropriate specialty.
  • Possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves
