About the position

System One is in search of a Civil Engineer, Design for a long-term contract assignment for our client onsite in Sequoyah, TN. This position is crucial within the nuclear industry, where the Civil Engineer will be responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting, or coordinating detailed phases of civil engineering work for major or moderately scoped projects. The role requires a strong understanding of conventional civil engineering practices, while also being prepared to tackle complex features that may arise, such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitable materials, and difficult coordination challenges. The Civil Engineer will independently evaluate, select, adapt, and modify standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to develop new approaches to encountered problems. This position demands a broad knowledge of specialty area precedents and related practices, ensuring that the engineer is competent and fully trained through sufficient professional experience. Additionally, the role includes providing procurement and field engineering support, which encompasses walk-downs, modifications, maintenance, and testing. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field from an accredited curriculum, along with related continuing education. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is desirable, as is membership in professional and technical societies. Demonstrated proficiency in civil engineering through completion of an engineering graduate progression plan or equivalent post-graduate education and experience is also expected.

Responsibilities
