About the position

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a motivated and driven Civil Design Engineer to join our team in Nashville, TN. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing site development construction drawings and engineering design considerations for water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure. You will also handle permit applications associated with various projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial developments. Regular client interaction is a key aspect of this position, necessitating excellent communication skills to effectively convey project details and requirements. As a Civil Design Engineer, you will utilize your expertise in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software to create detailed designs and plans. Your role will involve collaborating with other team members to ensure that all designs meet the necessary standards and regulations. You will be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize your workflow, and complete tasks efficiently. This position offers a structured work schedule from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Fridays, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic. Responsibilities

• Prepare site development construction drawings.
• Design engineering considerations for water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure.
• Complete permit applications for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Engage in regular client interactions and maintain excellent communication.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D software for design tasks.
• Manage multiple projects and prioritize workflow effectively.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience designing land development projects using Civil 3D software applications.
• EIT Certification or the ability to receive EIT Certification within 6 months.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow.
• Client service-oriented with a self-starter attitude.
• Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
