About the position

The Project Civil Engineer position at Actalent in Raleigh, North Carolina, is designed for a motivated and creative individual who will work in a collaborative engineering and design environment. The role involves a diverse range of projects including campus design, urban design, multi-family development, and commercial/retail development. Key responsibilities include civil design, calculations, analysis, documentation, and construction observation, all while supporting project planning and quality assurance under the supervision of a Project Manager and Studio Leader.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil design calculations for grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, and site design.
• Prepare design drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other civil engineering design and modeling software.
• Write various reports and technical memoranda.
• Conduct QA/QC of drawings and specifications.
• Manage small projects and components of major projects.
• Perform construction observation and administrative duties such as site visits, field reports, shop drawing review, and responding to contractor RFIs.

Requirements

• EIT or PE certification in Civil Engineering.
• Experience with civil design calculations and site design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and civil engineering design software.
• Strong writing skills for reports and technical memoranda.
• Ability to manage small projects and components of larger projects.
