Responsibilities

• Serve as the Division subject matter expert on technology deployment opportunities and research.
• Independently identify and introduce relevant technology/innovations to the Division.
• Lead the EFLHD Innovation Team to promote an innovative culture.
• Track projects from scoping through completed construction for accurate reporting.
• Manage participation of EFLHD staff in technology program opportunities.
• Assess funding opportunities for technology deployment initiatives.
• Organize EFLHD's Annual Innovation Day.
• Support coordination of the Pathways Summer Intern/Co-op program.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen and meet specialized experience qualifications.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent education/experience.
• For GS-12: One year of specialized experience at GS-09 level in civil engineering principles and highway technology deployment.
• For GS-13: One year of specialized experience at GS-11 level providing guidance in highway design and technology advancement.

Nice-to-haves

• Professional registration as an Engineer Intern (EI) or Engineer in Training (EIT).
• Experience with experimental and demonstration projects in highway technology.
