Responsibilities

• Conduct engineering tasks necessary for the execution of the Dam Safety Program as outlined by the Dam Safety and Encroachments Act.
• Regulate dams and reservoirs to safeguard public health, safety, welfare, and property.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic studies related to dam safety.
• Prepare preliminary designs for dams, levees, and other hydraulic structures.
• Conduct economic analyses and cost estimations for projects.

Requirements

• Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an Engineer-in-Training certificate.
• Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program.
• Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, an Engineer-in-Training certificate, and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related discipline.
• One year of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
