The Civil Engineer I position at the Vermont Agency of Transportation (AOT) Asset Management Bureau is focused on providing data-driven recommendations to guide investments in the state's highway network. Responsibilities

  • Support the mission of the AOT by providing quality, data-driven recommendations for highway network investments.
  • Engage in early phases and decision-making processes for construction projects.
  • Collaborate with team leaders to gather background information and make recommendations.
  • Conduct fieldwork to assess conditions and gather data for project planning.
  • Attend public meetings and represent the agency's interests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or a related technical field.
  • OR an Associate's degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or a related technical field with two years of engineering experience.
  • OR be a college senior in the final year of a bachelor's degree program in civil engineering or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data analysis and project management in civil engineering.
  • Familiarity with Vermont's transportation policies and infrastructure.
